Did Mark Zuckerberg lit the forest fires in South Carolina in person? Conspirators believe it

After the devastating forest fires in California in January 2025, it is the turn of South Carolina and North Carolina to be ravaged by exceptional fires. Since the end of February, around 650 hectares have left smoke, forcing the inhabitants to evacuate. A real shock, these phenomena being rare in these two states neighboring the southeast of the United States. However, climatic conditions – an extreme drought and gusts of wind exceeding 210 km/h – leave little doubts about the origin of these claims, as the Gizmodo online media points out.

However, this does not prevent some X users (formerly Twitter) from seeing the hand of Mark Zuckerberg. Since the weekend of 1er And March 2, several on the Elon Musk social network said that fires were triggered by powerful players in the tech sector, starting with the CEO of Meta. For what? Still according to these conspirators, with the allegedly malicious goal of transforming Myrtle Beach, seaside city of South Carolina whose surroundings are affected by fires, in a so -called “intelligent” and connected city.

Private jets are already enough already

It is the far -right influencer John Sabal, better known under his pseudonym “The Patriot Voice” on X, who lit the wick first. According to him, these fires are so unusual for a city like Myrtle Beach that local authorities can only hide the real causes.

On X, he expresses his sobriety concerns. “When did you hear about these damn” forest fires “for the last time to Myrtle Beach?!?!?! They think we are stupid. If you pay attention enough, they always tell you in advance what they plan, as in this television news. ”he gets carried away, accompanying his tweet with a video relating these events and relayed on Tiktok.

Still according to John Sabal, not necessarily renowned for his expertise in meteorology, the fires were on “intentionally” Using directed energy weapons, in other words by tagged lasers from space to target a very specific area. For what? Oh, it’s very simple from his point of view. “Blackrock can then intervene and buy everything at low prices to rebuild it in a” connected prison city “of the quarter of an hour”he says in his tweet by evoking the famous American multinational specialist in investment and asset management. For John Sabal, this is not the first time it has happened and other forest fires have been triggered by lasers from space.

He then points to a culprit, Mark Zuckerberg, highlighting his recent rapprochement with Donald Trump. Not only did the creator of Facebook deeply changed his speech as well as that of his Meta group, but he also attended the inauguration of the 47e President of the United States, January 20, 2025. A proximity that goes wrong for certain far-right personalities: it is out of the question that Mark Zuckerberg can whisper in Donald Trump’s ear.

Obviously, no evidence supports these fanciful affirmations, which are part of the litany of conspiracy remarks that regularly return to each wave of fires or natural disasters, in the United States or elsewhere in the world. Neither Elon Musk nor Mark Zuckerberg have yet launched forest fires in order to build new cities adapted to their needs. On the other hand, it is obvious that the carbon footprint of the two entrepreneurs is not unrelated to global warming. In other words, they do not need lasers to indirectly cause fires: their private jets are more than enough.
